SUMMARY OF EXPERTISE:
An international development specialist with 8 years of professional experience working on U.S. and international social policy issues including gender, civil society, health, and education projects targeting child laborers, at-risk youth, at-risk women, victims of trafficking and labor exploitation, and other disadvantaged groups. Conducted field assessments on child labor and trafficking in South Asia, Cambodia, Guatemala, and Albania. Wrote and edited child labor publications, curriculum, organized workshop activities, and backstopped child labor and trafficking projects in Romania, Bulgaria, Ghana, and Honduras. Provided technical advice and assistance to a grassroots organization in Cambodia, which included proposal writing, project development, and data collection for projects on trafficking, female child domestic labor, and child malnutrition. Wrote Master’s thesis on domestic child servitude. Field experience in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Guatemala, India, Nepal, Albania, and Venezuela.

      Worked on Education to Combat Abusive Child Labor, a USAID task order that provided technical and program assistance to USAID missions, regional bureaus, and organizations in non-presence countries to combat child labor and human trafficking throughout the world. Managed a USAID-funded Nepal pilot project activity, targeting internally displaced children in the Maoist conflict-affected areas for educational activities to prevent trafficking and promote safe migration. Conducted in-country child labor and human trafficking assessments, researched new child labor and trafficking initiatives, and developed intervention strategies in India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Albania. Scoped out possible anti-trafficking business opportunities and participated in writing project proposals for the Business Development Unit.
