Bupinder Zutshi, M.A/ M.Phil/ Ph. D., Center for the Study of Regional Development, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. Currently teaching at Centre for the Study of Regional Development, Jawaharlal. Nehru University, New Delhi, has more than 26 years of teaching experience at post-graduate and research level. Has taught at Utkal University, Kashmir University and Jawaharlal Nehru University. His fields of interest include population studies, child labour, child education, gender studies, disability studies and regional development. He has published five books and several research articles in journals of repute. He has completed several research projects on child education, child labour, non-formal education, gender studies and disability studies. He has completed projects sponsored by UNESCO (New Delhi), International Bureau of Education (IBE, Geneva), United Nationa High Commissioner for Human Rights (Geneva), Ford Foundation (New Delhi), International Labour Organization (New Delhi), the Policy Science Centre, Inc. The NGO is currently administering 5 Project Mala Schools for children released from carpet weaving and other labour activities in Mirzapur- Varanasi district of Uttar Pradesh (Total enrollment of 950 children). These children are provided 3 years accelerated primary education. After completion of the 3 years primary education, these children are streamlined into formal education at class VI level.
